opportunities possible.
Students in Kindergarten through Eighth Grades are asking for sponsors for their multi-mile walk around the farm labor center. Friends are welcome to join in on the one mile route. Advance registration is preferred. Registration forms are available from Kathy McKenzie, kathymckenzie3@gmail.com. Event check-in will be at the Housing Authority Office, 850 East Gridley Road at 8:00, and the walk will start at 9:00. Prizes and awards will be presented at 11:00, along with free hot dog lunch.
Funds raised will be used to provide students educational opportunities during the summer. On one trip, August 13, 2016, they will travel on Amtrak from Davis, CA to Richmond, CA, then BART over to San Francisco and the local bus out to Golden Gate Park. At the Academy of Sciences students will complete a Treasure Hunt for scientific facts on aquatic life, the rain forest, geology, dinosaurs, and African Animals.
